Dr Surinder SINGH - General Practitioner

Academic medicine and teaching; HIV/AIDS and sexual health.

Additional notes:
Dr Singh is also a senior lecturer in General Practice at University College London where he is the lead for the intercalated BSc in Primary Health Care. In the past he was lead medical officer at London Lighthouse, one of the first residential units forpateints affected by HIV infection/AIDS in the UK. He has written and co-authored two books on the subject. More recently Dr Singh has been a member of the independent advisory committee on HIV/AIDS and sexual health services and the editorial board of the British Journal of General Practice. He is currently a performance assessor for the General Medical Council.

Dr Sebastian Kalwij graduated from Medical School in Amsterdam, the
Netherlands in 1994. After working in El Salvador and Zambia he came
to London to do his GP training and to study for an MSc in Control of
Infectious Diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine. Sebastian worked for more than 10 years as a GP in South
East London and he combines this with being the GP-Lead for the
National Chlamydia Screening Programme.
